	SCENE 1	Oscar has purchased three paintings from the grouch fair by famous artist Pablo Grouch. The paintings each depict a garbage truck, a wrecked car, and a junk yard. Oscar displays them outside his can, but Gordon doesn't like that he'll have to see them every day. Bob tries to mediate and concludes that to a Grouch, the art is beautiful, but to people, they're not. Oscar doesn't care what anyone else thinks as long as he likes them.

	SCENE 1 cont'd	Gordon produces a copy of the Mona Lisa, which he considers a beautiful painting; Oscar disagrees. David tries settling the argument with a painting of his own, an abstract Spanish version of the Nativity that both Oscar and Gordon don't like. Bob comes back with Vincent van Gogh's Seascape near Les Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer, which no one else likes either. Cookie Monster happens in, thinking it's an art show. He produces a piece of art he thinks is the best - a painting of a cookie, which he eats. He then starts to eat everyone else's art for dessert.

They point out he has small items - mittens, boots, and earmuffs, but two large socks won't possibly fit him. Grover shows that he uses one for a stocking cap and the other for a scarf.

Ernie doesn't see the four elephants, so Lefty offers to show him the elephants if Ernie will buy the picture for a nickel. Lefty points out the elephants, which are actually spaces in the tree's branches. Ernie shells out for the picture. Ernie wants to pull the same trick on Bert, but Bert notices the elephants right away. (First: Episode 0292)

	Muppets	Benny and his boss have been waiting for Lefty for a long time. Benny wonders how they will know when it's Lefty at the door, so he reminds him that Lefty will knock three times - their secret knock to enter their hideout. Lefty forgets the number, and has to be hinted from his boss what the number of knocks are to gain access, finally giving the correct amount. When they let him in, the boss reprimands him for his poor memory, and warns him that he'll be in big trouble if he forgets again. To test his memory, the boss and Benny lock themselves out, telling him not to let them in until they give the secret knock. Despite the boss' warning, Lefty forgets once again, and finally having enough, he fearfully runs out the back door, leaving the other two stranded outside yelling, "Let us in!" as they angrily pound on the door trying to get in.

	SCENE 3	Cookie Monster comes to Hooper's and orders the smallest cookie that they have in stock, to David's surprise. Cookie explains that the smaller the cookie, the quicker it is to eat and reach his tummy. Once he eats it, he realizes his tummy is in no hurry after all and eats the remaining cookies as well.
	Cartoon	Krazy Kat proves his love for Ignatz Mouse with a block of cheese. Ignatz carves it into the word "LOVE." (First: Episode 0615)
	Muppets	Muppet & Kid Moment — John-John and Herry Monster count to twenty. (First: Episode 0441)

Notes

• Scene 4 was originally a fully scripted scene: in the rain, Big Bird keeps dry under his umbrella. Grover, however, is stuck in the block house Big Bird has made with no door. Grover bursts out and huddles under the umbrella.
