"Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah" is a cheerful Disney song. The melody and lyrics, describing a perfect day and such cheerful concepts as Mr. Bluebird resting on one's shoulder, combined to net an Academy Award for Best Song. The tune has since become a staple Disney theme, much like "When You Wish Upon a Star," used in variations in Disney commercials, television openings, and at Disneyland and Walt Disney World, most notably in the Splash Mountain ride.

The sprightly anthem was performed by The Bun-Bun Brothers in The Muppet Show episode 420, a cute act interrupted by Alan Arkin (under the influence of Bunsen's Jekyll-and-Hyde potion).

The song was sung as a duet between Rowlf and Jimmy Dean on the December 10, 1964 broadcast of The Jimmy Dean Show, when Rowlf was cured from his delusion that he was a cat.

Edith Prickley (played by Andrea Martin) briefly sings the tune during the final scene of Sesame Street Episode 2259. In Episode 4319, the Three Little Pigs proclaim in song that they're going to build "a brand new zip-a-dee-doo house."
