Zhima Jie: Da Niao Kan Shijie (Sesame Street's Big Bird Looks at the World) is the second China co-production of Sesame Street, replacing the older version, Zhima Jie. The fifty-two 11-minute series features Big Bird, Elmo, and a martial arts expert name Tiger Lily. The series will promote scientific discovery and the characters will try to search answers to questions such as: Why do bird fly? or Why are polar bears white?
Martin P. Robinson flew to China to hold puppeteer training sessions and was present at the taping of new Sesame Street 'street' segments. The Muppets include a monkey (the same pattern as Joey and Davey Monkey), tiger cub, Big Bird, and Elmo.
