The Young Monster was the customer in the Mopatop's Shop episode "Surprises". He wanted something exciting, but all the things he thought was exciting turned out not to be very exciting at all, such as a Shark that was very tired and a pirate that would much rather sit and think than going out on the open sea. Instead it turns out that a cheese, lettuce and a pair of tomatoes, was more exciting than they seemed to be at first glance.

His puppet is later used for Pappy Popper, Ginorman, and Mo Momo. The Henson tag inside the puppet reads 'Icky Nono, Nick spots' as it was previously used in promotional pictures for Muppet Time.
