You and I and George was first performed by Rowlf the Dog on a 1960s variety show appearance. He also performed it as a UK Spot in Episode 101 of The Muppet Show and again with Phyllis George in Episode 412. The song was later re-recorded for the album Rowlf the Dog: Ol' Brown Ears is Back.
