You Can't Do That on Television
You Can't Do That on Television is a variety show that aired on Nickelodeon from 1981 until 1990 (having previously aired for two seasons on local Canadian station CJOH-TV).
At the beginning of each episode, an announcer would state that a fictional program was being preempted for You Can't Do That on Television. These announcements were often accompanied by a drawing, several of which featured the Muppets. (This type of introduction was borrowed from the third season of Saturday Night Live.)
