Stalks

The two "Stalks" appeared with Green Heap and Purple Heap in The Muppet Show: Sex and Violence sketch titled Aggression. The characters are listed in the script as Pink Stalk and Gold Stalk. In the original script dialog they refer to each other as "George" and "Martha"; during the sketch as filmed they call each other "Xomfey" and "Melg".

They look like talking fuzzy bananas with beady eyes. The gold stalk is performed by Jerry Nelson, and the pink stalk is performed by Fran Brill. They speak in gibberish, with a slightly distinguished accent; they are obviously more civilized than the Heaps.
