Hal Linden sings the classic patriotic number "Yankee Doodle Boy" in episode 517 of The Muppet Show. He is interrupted by Gonzo singing "Jingle Bells".

At We Are One: The Obama Inaugural Celebration at the Lincoln Memorial, Elmo and Rosita led the crowd in singing the song.

For the 2009 appearance at A Capitol Fourth, Natasha Bedingfield sang with a rendition with Big Bird, Elmo, Cookie Monster, Rosita, Oscar the Grouch, and Abby Cadabby.

Kermit helps Don Music finish the "Yankee Doodle" song, then because Don finds the idea of calling feathers macaroni ridiculous, they rewrite it to be a song in which Yankee Doodle stays at home cooking for his pony, puts "fat spaghetti" in a pot and calls it macaroni.
