Willie Nelson (b. 1933) is a country music singer who covered "The Rainbow Connection" on his 2001 album of the same name. In 2005, Nelson also performed the song with Gonzo for the Paul Williams DVD/CD release I'm Going Back There Someday. On June 14 of that year, he and Judy Collins appeared with Kermit the Frog prior to the National Academy of Popular Music/Songwriters Hall of Fame's 32nd annual induction and awards ceremony.
