What Did You Bring Stevenson front and back

What Did You Bring? is a 1980 Sesame Street storybook featuring Big Bird.

Big Bird is waiting patiently for a present from Granny Bird on the steps of 123 Sesame Street. As traffic passes by, it seems like everyone is getting deliveries except for him. Barkley receives his dog biscuits, the Count's order of green capes arrives, Hooper's Store gets its bread and milk deliveries, Oscar's order of banana and anchovy pizza arrives, the florist delivers Frazzle some flowers, the ice cream truck brings ice cream to the block, and Grover gets (what appears to be) a piece of abstract art.

Big Bird watches with growing concern as a moving truck delivers furniture, a dump truck (driven by Biff and Sully) unloads dirt, a tow truck tows a broken-down vehicle, an auto carrier delivers new cars to a dealership, and Rodeo Rosie drives by with her horse trailer on her way to a rodeo. Big Bird is beginning to worry as the mail carrier comes by to pick up mail, but does not drop any off. A parcel post truck arrives full of packages, but unfortunately for Big Bird, the only packages that are delivered are a new Super Grover secret decoder ring for Ernie and a new pigeon T-shirt for Bert. Big Bird even asks the garbage collector if he has a present for him, but alas, he does not.

Just as Big Bird is about to give up hope, a taxi pulls up and who should be inside but Granny Bird, who decided to bring Big Bird's gift over herself. In the end, Big Bird realizes that while his new Teddy Bird is great, a visit from Granny Bird is the best gift of all.
