VH1 is a basic cable channel that originally specialized in showcasing music videos. Starting in 1995, the network began developing original programming and has transitioned to a music and popular culture based format. It is owned by MTV Networks.

In 1993, Clifford appeared as a guest VJ on the network. Clifford introduced videos and interviewed Meshell Ndegeocello.

Several shows on VH1 have included appearances by and references to the Muppets, including The Greatest TV Moments: Sesame Street Music A-Z and I Love the 70s. Animal's "Wipe Out" music video was played on the network as well.

In 2002, Miss Piggy appeared in a commercial for the VH1 Vogue Fashion Awards, recalling her worst fashion moment:

Hmm, I don't have many, you know, but I once made the mistake of wearing DKNY, CK and BCBG all at the same time... Sheesh, all those letters, I looked like a train wreck on Sesame Street.

In 2009, Statler and Waldorf made appearances in VH1's deliberating six part special, The Great Debate.

In addition, the network has on occasion been used by others to satarized the Muppets - both Robot Chicken and Family Guy have parodied its long-running Behind the Music documentary series with fictitious episodes based on Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem.
