Uncle Jack was Elmo's paternal uncle, as Louie's brother. He was married to Elmo's Aunt Jill and was the father of Elmo's cousin Jesse.
The 2010 special When Families Grieve centers on Elmo's family as they cope with Uncle Jack's death. It is not stated how he died, though it can be assumed, since was a military serviceman, that he was killed in action during the War on Terrorism.
