Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Bug is a 1991 Sesame Street book featuring Big Bird.
Big Bird catches a lightning bug, and keeps it in a jar -- and then finds that the bug's light is getting dimmer. He learns that animals need to be free in order to be happy.
Reissues
This book was reissued in 1996 by Random House as a Step into Reading Step 1 book with new illustrations by Tom Brannon. It receives a second reissue in 2003 as a Step Into Reading Step 2 book with Tom Brannon's illustrations borrowed from the book's 1996 reissue.
