Toulouse is an artistic caveman with a thick French accent who appeared in a Caveman Days sketch on Sesame Street.
A long time ago, when a Cave King needed a type of brush invented so he could clean his teeth, a Royal Smart Person invented several different kinds of brushes. Among the different types was a long, flat, wide brush, which Toulouse found to be the best type of object to use to paint the walls of his cave. He then proceeded to paint the perfect image of a cow right then and there.
His name is a direct reference to artist Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, while his art style is very similar to the early cave painting found in Lascaux, France.
