Toots Thielemans (b. 1922 in Belgium) is a jazz musician known for his harmonica and guitar playing, and professional whistling. An acclaimed harmonica player, he provided the harmonica solos for the Sesame Street theme song.
Moving to the United States in 1951, he became a member of "Charlie Parker's All-Stars". He played and recorded with names like Ella Fitzgerald, Quincy Jones, Paul Simon, and Billy Joel. The Beatles' John Lennon, sometimes accompanied by George Harrison, would often listen to Thielemans at noon, pre-fame, in a local club.
His full name is Jean-Baptiste FrΓ©dΓ©ric Isidor, Baron Thielemans.
