Tom and Jerry are a pair of goldfish, seen in Sesame Street Episode 2238 (street scenes recycled from an earlier season). The goldfish can't sing or write letters, but they swim and eat. They belong to Iolai, one of the kids.

Their names are a reference to the MGM cartoon characters created by Hanna-Barbera, and they were included in Animal Planet's 50 Greatest TV Animals.
