Tina Turner (b. 1939) is a rock star whose appeal has spanned generations. Her hit songs include the Grammy Award-winning "Proud Mary" and "What's Love Got to Do with It."
In 1986, Janice appeared as "Tina Totally" in a centerfold poster for Muppet Magazine issue 14. The same picture was used in the 1993 Muppet Trading Cards set, with the tagline: "What's Hair Got to Do with It?"
In 2006, the ad agency behind the Pizza Hut Superbow ads featuring Jessica Simpson and the Muppets, created a short clip with Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy acting out a scene from the 1993 Tuner biopic "What's Love Got to Do with It," lipsynching to Angela Bassett and Laurence Fishburne.[1]
For an interview to promote The Muppets, Janice lists her musical influences as Joan Jett and Tina Turner.[2]
