  • Are Uncle Hank and Sally Messy Yuckyael made from the same puppet?

    • Yes, they are. A lot of the grouch puppets are recycled into different characters, relatives, etc. This particular grouch has also been used occasionally as a monster, such as Furline Huskie.

    • Oh, okay. On that note, I'm assuming Pino is an altered version of Teenage Monster.

    • Sure. Most of the monsters work just like Anything Muppets, only Grouches' features aren't usually altered. (Though some appear to have removable eyes, so their expressions can be more or less grouchy. They did that mainly for "Elmo in Grouchland"-- by my count they had at least 25 grouch puppets {old and new} to populate the entire place!) Just another way to populate Sesame Street! (Check out the AM Monsters page for characters who have shared the same puppet design. I've been wanting to update it for years with images comparing the different types, but I never got around to it.)
