  • Toronto Star, "Happy to say goodbye to Hotlips", December 5, 1982:

Miss Piggy of The Muppets is a fan of M*A*S*H, and her creator, Jim Henson, swears he had Hotlips in mind when he was inspired to develop her overpowering personality. Loretta is not too flattered.

Do we believe, or can we chalk this up to creative writing? The writer (Sarah Deane) is "Special to the Star", so I can't even vouch for their track record.

    • Absolutely not true. Miss Piggy's character developed over a long period of times, and she has exactly nothing in common with Hotlips.

    • Thanks, I presume that the case. I was searching for a specific article in The Star, and sidetracked by this.
