The Wright Brothers, Orville (1871–1948) and Wilbur (1867-1912), were American brothers who are credited with inventing and building the world's first airplane.

They have been referenced by the Muppets on multiple occasions.

• Sam the Eagle plays a patent officer in a sketch with Marty Feldman, who plays Wilbur and Orville Wright (his mother wanted twins) in episode 518 of The Muppet Show. Wilbur and Orville wants to patent the flying carpet -- but when Sam asks for details, he learns that the flying carpet is on the floor of a passenger jet.
