The Whale Tale was loosely based on the "Friendship" number from The Muppet Show episode 519. In this story, the Muppets go on a picnic on a boat, and ater the boat get's turned over, Kermit the Frog and Robin decide to go exploring underwater, where they meet some whales who are hiding from whale hunters.
