The Ugly Parlor is one of the many businesses briefly glimpsed in The Adventures of Elmo in Grouchland. Located in Grouchland USA, the Ugly Parlor is the Grouch equivalent of a "beauty parlor," where female Grouches go to have their hair done. Naturally, reflecting grouch taste, their coiffures are adorned with pot scrubbers, hair curlers, and old tin cans.

Elmo visits the Ugly Parlor in the 1999 storybook Unwelcome to Grouchland, where he glimpses some of the Grouch beauty products -- Trowelon makeup base, shiner eyeliner, lip glops, war paint, and Cover Gall makeup.
