The Ugly Duckling is a fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen. First published in 1843, the story is an original of Andersen's, with no basis in lore or legends. It has been adaptated numerous times in different medias. Disney adapted it twice for thier Silly Symphonies series, and it was reworked for Broadway as the musical HONK!
