Jim Henson's The StoryTeller first aired on NBC on January 31, 1987. Several episodes aired as part of The Jim Henson Hour. The Storyteller was played by John Hurt and the Storyteller's dog was performed by Brian Henson. The show spawned the short-lived spin-off series Jim Henson's The StoryTeller: Greek Myths.
