The Shaggy Dog was a 1959 black and white film about a teenage boy who tansforms into an Old English Sheepdog via a cursed ring. The film was the first Disney live-action comedy, and was based on The Hound of Florence by Felix Salten (creator of Bambi). Featuring many Disney veterans, including Fred MacMurray, Tommy Kirk and Annette Funicello, and directed by The Mickey Mouse Club director Charles Barton, the film spawned several sequels and a 2006 remake starring Tim Allen.
