The Rat Pack follows Rizzo the Rat and his friendly gang of ten biker rats as they tour the United States of America. One by one, the members are lost to distractions or mishaps. A color tattoo bearing a "Rizzo's Rat Pack" logo was included.

The book's structure is based on the diminishing rhyme "Ten Little Indians," which formed the basis of the Agatha Christie book and play and for such Sesame Street animated inserts as "Ten Little Greeblies" (narrated by Gary Owens) and "Five Purple Conkers."
