The Rainforest Benefit was a Grateful Dead concert that took place on September 24, 1988 at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Guest artists for the concert included Mick Taylor, Suzanne Vega, Bruce Hornsby, Daryl Hall and John Oates.

During one of the set breaks, Kermit and Animal appeared in a PSA about the rain forests, which was broadcast on projection screens.[1]
