Porcupine
PERFORMER Fran Brill
DEBUT 1993

The Porcupine is the glamorous porcupine singer from the Muppet Sing Along video, Billy Bunny's Animal Songs. When Billy Bunny accidentally gets pricked by one of her quills, she sings a song about what he should remember: to not bump into her.

The porcupine appeared as one of the singers during the "Scrooge" number in The Muppet Christmas Carol, performed by Mike Quinn. The puppet was later recycled for Mopatop's Shop, appearing as a bespectacled customer in the episode "Worries," and as Peggy Porcupine in "The Big Bicycle Race."

Official bio[]

from a 1993 press release

The Porcupine that Billy meets along the way has a terrific singing voice and she also plays the saxophone. Her parents wanted her to be an accountant, but she resisted for the lure of show business and her dream of becoming the most famous singing porcupine in the world. She displays a sharp sense of humor and always gets to the point.
