The Pointer Sisters are a famous R&B group. The group's members originally included Ruth, Anita, Bonnie and June Pointer. The group found its greatest success as a trio after their sister Bonnie left to pursue a solo career. The group's hits include "Automatic," "Jump (For My Love)," "I'm So Excited," and "Neutron Dance", which was covered by The Extremes on The Jim Henson Hour.
The Pointer Sisters recorded the vocal tracks for the popular "Pinball Number Count" cartoon on Sesame Street.
They performed the song "Yes, We Can Can" on Sesame Street (EKA: Episode 0793); the song appeared on the 1979 album The Stars Come Out on Sesame Street. They also sang "Hush, Little Baby" (YouTube) and "Swingin' Alphabet" on Sesame Street.
In 1982, they appeared with Jim Henson at the Night of 100 Stars. Other appearances include performances on Cher, American Bandstand and A Capitol Fourth.
