The New Yorker is an American magazine containing essays, fiction, satire, cartoons, and poetry, first published in the 1925. The magazine often focuses on cultural life in New York City, but its audience is widespread, with subscribers across America.

The single panel cartoons featured in the magazine have been featured since the magazine's inception in 1925. Among the cartoonists featured over the years have been Charles Addams, Cliff Roberts and Ed Koren.

In The Miss Piggy Cover Girl Fantasy Calendar, a copy of The New Yorker is seen next to Miss Piggy's bathtub, with Piggy taking on the role of Eustace Tilley, an ililustrated character who appeared on the first cover, and continues to reappear on anniversary issues.
