The world premiere of The Muppets was held at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood on November 12, 2011.

Several of the Muppets - Animal, Fozzie Bear, Gonzo, Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Rowlf the Dog, Statler and Waldorf, Sweetums, and Walter - were in attendance, being driven across the red green carpet. Kermit, Miss Piggy and Walter were interviewed separately upon arrival.

Also present were actors Jason Segel, Amy Adams, Chris Cooper, Rashida Jones, Rico Rodriguez, Neil Patrick Harris, Bill Cobbs, Mickey Rooney, Eddie Pepitone, James Carville and Kristen Schaal; director James Bobin; choreographer Michael Rooney; writer Nick Stoller; producers David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman; Lisa Henson; and musicians Bret McKenzie, Christophe Beck and Feist.

Apart from the film's cast and crew, celebrities like David Burtka, Cat Cora, Cristián de la Fuente, Alexis Denisof, Eugenio Derbez, Roshon Fegan, Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Nancy Grace, Alyson Hannigan, Anthony Hopkins, Carlon Jeffery, Kym Johnson, Sid Krofft, Jason Lee, China Anne McClain, Lauryn McClain, Sierra McClain, Joel McHale, Jennifer Morrison, Oscar Nuñez, Raini Rodriguez, Busy Phillips, Teri Polo, Brian Posehn, Lisa Rinna, Bella Thorne, Stana Katic, Izabella Miko, OK Go, Laura Marano, Vanessa Marano and multiple Disney executives (including CEO Bob Iger) also walked the green carpet.
