The Muppet Show motion comics are adaptations of the Boom Studios publication, The Muppet Show Comic Book. The series was announced at the D23 Expo in September 2009^[1] and later promoted with a video embedded into Amazon.com's Muppet store in October 2010. Dave Goelz and Steve Whitmire provided voices for the project.

The motion comics were announced for multiple platforms: Apple iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad, Microsoft Xbox Live, Amazon Video Store, Sony PSN and DVD.^[2]

Although originally planned for release in the fall of 2010, the release was delayed. However, in February 2011, Boom Studios announced that they were losing the Muppet comic license; it was later announced that Marvel Comics (now owned by Disney) would be picking up publishing rights and reprinting the original Meet the Muppets comic book.

To date, there have been no announced plans from Marvel, Boom or Disney regarding the motion comics.
