NotesEdit

  • Some of the "different" shots of the orchestra were replaced by a new orchestra shot on DVD (either the orchestra shot from the first or third seasons) or would cut straight to the Zoot shots (or the Jim Henson Television logo) during reruns.
  • All of the "different" shots of the final note, except the one from episode 123, were replaced by a new Zoot ending (either the 1980s shot, the Sax and Violence shot, a new shot, or simply the Jim Henson logo) when shown in syndication or on DVD. Somehow some of the "different" shots don't really match with the alternate closings and often made them confusing. However, the different sounds of the final note remained the same.
  • In the German co-production, the eight alternate closings were replaced with the standard German end credits, which used the regular first season closing theme and the opening pan-out shot from the first two episodes. At the end of at least two or four episodes, a Statler & Waldorf comment from another episode is presented, whereas the other episodes present their original Statler & Waldorf closing comments. Episode 123's comment is used from the Joel Grey episode (although the subtitles erroneously transcribe Rowlf and Nigel's original conversation instead). Also, Steve Martin's bass solo is also still heard over the opening pan-out shot at the end of episode 208. On the German release of the first season DVD set, episode 123's original alternate closing can be found on the third disc of the first season DVD as a hidden easter egg.
