The Little Red Hen is a 1981 Sesame Street storybook based on the folk tale, most likely of Russian origin, made famous in America with a Little Golden Book.

Prairie Dawn presents a "Sesame Street Pageant", featuring Bert as the Little Red Hen, who plants a seed, grows corn, and makes a batch of muffins. After the other animals choose not to help the red hen make the muffins, they end up not getting any to eat. After the play, the cast pretends to not want to help Prairie Dawn put the set away.
