The Lawrence Welk Show was a musical variety show that ran from 1955 to 1982 on a number of stations (originally local LA station KTLA, followed by ABC and finally syndicated). Hosted by band leader Lawrence Welk, the show featured a number of musical and dance acts.
- On the February 18, 1965 episode of The Jimmy Dean Show, Rowlf the Dog plays around with Jimmy Dean as he takes a nap. He produces a bubble wand and has Jimmy blow a bubble as he snores. The show's band briefly starts playing the theme of The Lawrence Welk Show before Rowlf silences them.
- In episode 2834 of Sesame Street, The Count leads his All-Bat Band at Birdland's "Open Stage Night." The baton-wielding Count reacts to the applause saying, "Thank you, thank you! Wonderful, wonderful!," in a manner directly mimicking that of Welk's.
- Robin Williams does an impression of Welk using a stick in a Sesame Street insert. (First: Episode 2835)
