The Ladykillers is a 2004 remake of a 1955 British comedy from J. Arthur Rank (starring Alec Guiness and Peter Sellers). The film is a dark comedy, helmed by the Coen Brothers, about a hapless gang of amateur criminals, attempting to rob a gambling boat and use the house of elderly Christian Mrs. Munson as their site of operations. Led by Professor Dorr (Tom Hanks), the group carries out the theft, but must then deal with discovery by the old lady. Jim Henson's Creature Shop supplied animal animatronics to complement two live characters: a commercial dog who suffocates in an early gag, and Pickles, the ubiquitous cat owned by Mrs. Munson.
