The Great Cookie Thief is a storybook based on a Western sketch first seen in 1971 on Sesame Street episode 0276. More content was added in the book version to stretch out the plot of the original skit, such as the addition of Rodeo Rosie as a newspaper reporter, Cookie Monster (a.k.a. the Cookie Thief) committing cookie robberies when the others aren't looking, and interaction and dialogue by the Anything Muppet cast.
