This bossa nova song is one of the most frequently recorded popular songs in history, and was a world-wide hit in the 1960's.
- It was sung by Petula Clark (as "The Boy from Ipanema") with one of the Bossmen in episode 220 of The Muppet Show. The skit is included on Playhouse Video: Rowlf's Rhapsodies.
- It was also sung by Miss Piggy in a 1996 ad for Frito-Lay.
