− | I was a Birdketeer when I was a child, because it didn't require putting on any makeup on the face. Originally, they wanted me to be a Grouchketeer, but the makeup made me uncomfortable for some reason. The Birdketeers were much happier kids, on average. |

The Birdketeers are a counterpart to the Grouchketeers, formed by Big Bird when Oscar the Grouch refused to let him into his club. [1] The group is led by Big Bird and includes various kids and, on occasion, Mr. Snuffleupagus, amongst others.
Monty was a Birdketeer at one point, and to tribute the "happiest day" of his life, sang "Being a Birdketeer".
