The Best of the Jimmy Dean Show is a DVD compilation of The Jimmy Dean Show, the 1960s variety show starring country singer Jimmy Dean. Rowlf the Dog was a regular part of the show, appearing in a comedy sketch with Dean in every episode.
The hour-long compilation includes two Rowlf sketches, including the songs "Song and Dance Man" and "Swinging on a Star". Both sketches also involve Rowlf's infatuation with Lassie. The total run-time of Rowlf material is just under 20-minutes.
The DVD is titled The Best of the Jimmy Dean Show, Volume 1, and Time-Life is said to have more volumes are in the works, but that ultimately the fate of the series depends on the success of the earlier releases. [1]
