Changes: The Announcer

The Announcer was heard in voice-over introducing Vet's Hospital, Pigs in Space and Bear on Patrol sketches on The Muppet Show. The characters onstage would almost always start looking up and around to try and find the location of this mystery voice.

In the Season 5 premiere of the Muppet Show, The Announcer was seen twice. Once when his appearance was seen by Beauregard as a sign that the end of the world was coming in Vets Hospital, and once in Pigs in Space where the crew of the Swinetrek are to be given the meaning of life, and miss it due to the dinner bell. When they return:

First Mate Piggy: Well, now I guess we'll never know the answer and meaning of life.

Announcer: I know.

All: Tell us!

Announcer: I know something you don't know.

Piggy: Well,I know something you don't know! Hi-ya! (pulls a control letting Announcer fall into the Swinetrek.)

Announcer: So much for...Pigs...in...Space...
