Ted Knight

Ted Knight (1923-1986) was an actor known for a number of television roles, including Too Close for Comfort, and The Mary Tyler Moore Show, for which his portrayal of clueless anchorman Ted Baxter won two Emmy Awards. Knight appeared in Muppet Magazine issue 5, paired with Link Hogthrob in "The Second Great Muppet Look-Alike Contest."
Knight's other TV credits includeed guest spots on Bonanza, The Love Boat, and The Twilight Zone. His sparse film credits include Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho (unbilled as a guard) and Caddyshack, facing off against Rodney Dangerfield and Chevy Chase as snobbish golfclub member Judge Smails. He was also involved with several animated versions of DC Comics characters. Knight's voice was heard in Filmation's The Superman/Aquaman Hour of Adventure as Perry White, assorted Aquaman villains, and various narrators, voiced the narrator, Alfred, and villains on The Batman/Superman Hour, and served a stint as narrator on Super Friends (where he was replaced by William Woodson).
