Sure, if you have the picture on your hard drive, then click on the "Upload file" button on the navigation bar. Once the file is uploaded, you can add it to the page using an "Image" tag. You can see how it's done on the Muppet Wiki FAQ page.

It's cool that you used the talk box. Actually, it should go on the article page, not on the talk page -- so when people come to the article page, they'll see the talk box, and they'll know to come to the talk page.
