The Mills Brothers
Scott added that "The Mills Brothers sing to a sketch with Rowlf and Billy and Sue." Did they perform the song live, or was it a recording? Anyone have a copy of this handy? -- Nate (talk) 19:52, March 9, 2010 (UTC)
What happened in the scenes with the unnamed robot, and who played the robot? (July 22, 1966) There's a 35 second excerpt of this robot that appears in The First Part of this Film is Silent; The Second is with Sound on Film. In the clip, a voice I don't recognize talks about how machines will be running everything of skill, and the speech includes, "Anything You can Do We Can Do Better".
Understanding this will help me as I write up this demo reel found at the Paley Center. --Dave Splurge 23:08, November 22, 2009 (UTC)
- It's been a while since I've seen it, but I'll try to dig it up and look at it again. —Scott (talk) 23:22, November 22, 2009 (UTC)
- For what it's worth, here's what the robot says in the 35 sec clip. Maybe this is part of a regular bit that was done on the Mike Douglas Show.
- "Exponential computation... all jobs requiring skill will be taken over by machines...for anything you can do we can do better...Look about you and you will see the machine... come of age... see the automatic elevator...see the powerful bulldozer...see the ball...see Jane throw the ball...see Jane run...Run, Jane, run..." --Dave Splurge 22:27, November 23, 2009 (UTC)
This may sound kind of akward, but was there a fifth episode that the Muppets did during the fifth week of the '66 appearance, or was it only four episodes. Also, where does the info for this come from? Are there any copies circulating among fans? Just asking. Thanks. Znsnyder
- I think some clips were screened at an event that showcased rare Henson clips (there have been quite a few of them, many of which were held at The Paley Center for Media). I'm not sure exactly which one it was. --Minor muppetz 19:25, 13 February 2009 (UTC)
There are also couple of images here on the Wiki from those shows. Does that mean they are still around? Znsnyder
By the way Minor Muppetz, I think those clips were first shown at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in 2004 during the Commercials&Experiments session that took place. Anyway, some of the screen caps that are shown of Tilly, Chef Bernardi, Two-Headed Muppet Monster, the Robot, and the opening with Kermit and the monsters were put up by Scott. Where did those come from anyway? Znsnyder 14:20, 25 February 2009 (UTC)
