Now that Scott's detective work has revealed A. Ligator as the Muppets Tonight announcer, and since the Cow Announcer is that character's name, can we move this back to simply "The Announcer"? As is, several pages link to the disambiguation page when they're referring to the Muppet Show character. We can move that page to "Announcer (disambig)" if necessary, though as of now, Scott's added useful "See alsos" on the relevant pages anyway. Thoughts? -- Andrew Leal (talk) 03:33, 2 September 2008 (UTC)

I think "The Announcer" is deserved here. —Scott (talk) 03:43, 2 September 2008 (UTC)

Season One

I was under the impression that John Lovelady did all of the Announcer's voice-overs in Season One. Does anyone have a list of episodes/sketches where Jerry did the voice before Season Two? -- Peter (talk) 18:06, 9 June 2006 (UTC)

According to the Muppet Show Season One guide over at Muppet Central, Jerry did the Announcer's voice in the episodes starring Rita Moreno, Harvey Korman, and Phyllis Diller. All other "appearances" of the Announcer were voiced by John Lovelady. I checked, and it's definitely Jerry's voice in the Rita Moreno episode, so the information should be solid. -- Mary Catherine (talk) 05:27, 14 June 2006 (UTC)
