Talk:Scoff
From Muppet Wiki
Scoffs is not a species name for these creatures. "Scoff" was a name given by the blue one in The Great Santa Claus Switch, as a gag in that one song like "Boppity" and "Gloat". The distinction between Blue Scoff and Green Scoff is fan created (like Green Boppity and Pink Boppity). As far as we know, these are Frackles, one of which happened to be named Scoff. (Designs and Doodles shows a sketch of this creature, referred to as "Blue Frackle.") -- Jog 17:43, 3 June 2006 (UTC)
- If correcting is not up to us, who else is it up to then? I changed it... -- Jog 09:47, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
- Yeah, you're right. I'll give the others more time to think about/discuss this kinda thing next time... -- Jog 16:17, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
- This shows some of the danger in our unofficial naming conventions -- especially for these minor monsters. The Great Santa Claus Switch is one of the few specials I haven't seen. The presentation of "Blue Scoff" and "Green Scoff" was misleading, I suggested a merge and you see what happened. We shouldn't label Henry Monster "Green Elmo" or call Elmo "Red Grover" if they didn't have a name – I think the Frackle naming is a bit problematic (such as "Dark Green Hunchback"). I just suggested something on The Frackles page that might work with some of these unnamed minor Frackles to solve this kind of problem. -- Brad D. (talk) 18:37, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
- If this frackle was called Blue Frackle then it is interesting that there would be two frackles called Blue Frackle (the other one being Boppity). I wonder if the green look-alike was called Green Frackle. I would have expected Blue Vulture Frackle to be it's real name. Does Designs and Doodles have any design sketches for Boppity? --Minor muppetz 22:54, 12 June 2006 (UTC)
