This network no longer exists using this name-- should it be moved to Syfy? Or are we just ignoring that name change? (Which would be perfectly okay with me.) George B. (talk) 01:18, September 18, 2009 (UTC)
- This page is pointless and should be deleted anyway. Any objections? —Scott (talk) 03:04, September 18, 2009 (UTC)
- Before we delete it, I'm just curious why this page is considered pointless, when it's a network that has aired a Henson-related production. In my opinion, it should be here just as much as NBC, CBS, ABC, and other networks should. Is it because of the brevity of the page? Is it because its only tie to the wiki is Farscape? -- Ken (talk) 04:47, September 18, 2009 (UTC)
- As for George's initial question, it's been our policy, as established in past discussions, to use the name relevant to the Muppet/Henson connection, which we've generally applied to companies, networks, TV shows, and even some people (notably rappers), so no, a page move would not be in order (see Apple Computer, Touchstone Television).
- As for deletion, I think it is admittedly pretty redundant when the only fact, that it aired Farscape, is already stated on the Farscape page, and there's no real expansion that could be done as far as Muppet relevance. At the time it was created, we created a page for everything, but now, we're trying to provide new information with each click, not just a restatement. So that does not apply to NBC, CBS, and ABC, which have many major Muppet connections and have also been referenced many times and in general play a major role in Muppet history and no doubt will continue to; it does, however, apply to some of the other items in Category:Broadcasters, so I think this discussion should probably be moved and opened up to re-assess those pages as a whole and look at which ones work and which ones don't. If there's a clear understanding of or policy on what fits and what doesn't, and not just the deletion of one dinky page which has been stumbled upon, then it's less likely we'll have the same confusion, among our regular editors at least, with similar pages in the future (as happened with Talk:The Food Network from earlier this year). -- Andrew Leal (talk) 05:09, September 18, 2009 (UTC)
