Talk:Muppets Tonight Theme
From Muppet Wiki
dropped material
The article states, "In Episode 101, the opening begins with an exterior shot of the theater and crowd waiting to get in, along with a short instrumental version of The Muppet Show Theme, but this was dropped after the first episode." ... All of the episodes I have from the Australian Disney Channel that aired in the last year or two have the brief TMS theme played. Am I not getting something? -- Scott (talk) 15:26, 21 June 2006 (UTC)
- Yeah, I don't know why the article says that. All the episodes have that. -- Danny (talk) 15:28, 21 June 2006 (UTC)
- My tapes from the 1996 airings also have the opening, no changes. I went ahead and removed the line. Andrew Leal (talk) 16:43, 21 June 2006 (UTC)
- I remember seeign this epsiode when it first aired, and remember seeing a crowd of Muppets waiting in line, before Kermit annoucned the show. In other epsiodes, this sequence begins with a shot of Kermit introducing the show. --Minor muppetz 03:24, 22 June 2006 (UTC)
- It's been a while since I last watched any of my copies of Muppets Tonight, but all of my copies are from the original US airings. I'll have to check my copies again sometime soon, but the only things that would be missing from my copies would be UK spots. --Minor muppetz 15:14, 22 June 2006 (UTC)
- I just checked my tape, and you're sort of right, but the problem was in the wording. All the episodes still have the exterior shot, the crowd waiting, and yes, snatches of a zydeco version of the Muppet Show theme. All that's trimmed is one second of the crowd before Kermit comes out. The original wording seemed to imply that the outside shot, theme, and crowd were all cut entirely. - Oh. I guess it's a little bit hard to hear the music after Kermit starts making the opening announcement. I remember still hearing it up to the crowd pushing Kermit back now. --Minor muppetz 18:50, 22 June 2006 (UTC)
