In one of the rare instances where a Sesame Street record gives the copyright date of a composition, "Morningtown Ride" says 1957. Can this be confirmed, or is the 1964 date right? -- Ken (talk) 04:47, 30 April 2007 (UTC)
- 1964 was just the first recording I could find of the song by "The Seekers". The discography for Malvina Reynolds herself has the earliest recording by her as much later so I assumed she had written it for the other group and covered it later herself. Looking around a bit more there are people claiming that the copyright was indeed 1957 but that it was "assigned" to the current publisher in 1963 (and then renewed later of course). -- Wendy (talk) 14:37, 30 April 2007 (UTC)
