Talk:Mimsy

Can anyone check the closed captioning or something on this? Since several interviews with Stephanie D'Abruzzo, and her bio in the Elmo in Grouchland presskit, mention that she played Elmo's cousin "Mimsy." I had no idea who that was at the time, but it seems like the same character. Conceivably D'Abruzzo and/or the publicity people and interviewers could have got it wrong, but it seems more likely to me that the name was misheard. I don't have access to the episode to check. -- Andrew Leal (talk) 03:11, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
- The closed-captioners decided to skip over that line of Telly's dialogue where he identifies her. The audio is really poor on my copy, so I can't tell for sure. It could be Mimsy. Is there a link to 1) the interviews and 2) the press kit? —Scott (talk) 04:07, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
- I'll try to find the interviews. The presskit is long gone from the net, but I saved a copy to Word, which is on my machine back in El Paso, unless I can find the backup (computer theft and all). -- Andrew Leal (talk) 04:11, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
- Aha, found the back-up. Here's the full thing, since there's some other info which may prove useful; the relevant passage is bolded:
- That's better than what I found. I came across a Northwestern news article saved on my HD about she and Craig doing a seminar there where they listed some of her credits. They mention Mimsy, but also incorrectly spell her Grouchland character as "Grizzly." Still, these articles and the shoddy audio on my copy of the episode are probably enough to support a move. The audio however is good enough to tell that it is Stephanie, even given her lack of dialogue. —Scott (talk) 04:29, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
- A Muppet bean. Who is #3! Such pieces occasionally mention extremely minor characters somewhat jokingly; a profile of Noel MacNeal discussed his motivation when playing a worm bus driver and a spoon. -- Andrew Leal (talk) 04:37, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
